The amendments of the most significant provisions of the Law on Foreigners and the Law on Employment of Foreigners enter into force today, on 1 February 2024. Simultaneously, on the same day, recently adopted immigration bylaws also come into force:
- the Rulebook on Issuing a Unified Permit for Temporary Residence and Work of a Foreigner,
- the Rulebook on Approval of a Temporary Residence and
- the Rulebook on Electronic Submission of Requests for a Permanent Residence.
These immigration bylaws provide a more detailed framework for certain procedures and institutes regulated by the abovementioned laws.
With the entry into force of the amendments to the laws, and with the adoption of the relevant bylaws, all formal conditions are now met to achieve the legislative goal primarily reflected in an expedited process of regulating the status of foreigners and their employment, as well as simplifying relevant procedures.
